Foreword

This publication provides an overview of the main data relating to the climate issue: the reality of climate change and its impacts, greenhouse gas emissions at global, European and national level, as well as the sectoral breakdown of these emissions and their evolution, and an estimate of France's carbon footprint. A final section reviews the main climate policies implemented to meet these challenges.

Where available, provisional emissions statistics for 2024 are presented, particularly for France. Wherever possible, data is provided over a longer period, so that trends can be assessed.

Several data sets, presented graphically in this document, can also be downloaded from the SDES website.
