What climate policies are implemented at the global level, in Europe and in France?

COP21 culminated in December 2015 with the adoption of the Paris Agreement, which sets long-term targets for mitigation and adaptation and involves the definition of national policies by developed and developing countries. The European Union has set a new objective of reducing its net emissions (emissions minus absorption) by at least 55% between 1990 and 2030, and is committed to achieving climate neutrality by 2050 at the latest. France has adopted a national low-carbon strategy and carbon budgets to implement the transition to a low‑GHG economy. It is also preparing for global warming of 4°C by 2100 compared with pre-industrial levels, through a national climate adaptation plan.
