Forest accounts: a monitoring tool for French forests 2007-2014
The forest accounts are a European tool applied in France to meet specific national needs and, in particular, to provide accounting and economic balance sheets. These accounts permit a statistical assessment of the French forest resource, forest-based sector and all related activities. The important work of structuring the information and ensuring the consistency of data also provide public decision-makers with an annual, transversal tool to monitor the forests and the wood industry. The results presented here for 2007-2014 highlight the analytical potential of the forest accounts and their evolving nature.
