Dans ce contexte, les créations d’entreprises (hors micro-entrepreneurs) et l’emploi se replient, tandis que les défaillances s’accroissent. Du fait de son poids économique, le transport de fret a un impact environnemental et sociétal important.

In 2023, freight transport accounted for almost 4% of French GDP and 2% of private-sector employment. Activity in land and sea freight transport fell by 4%.
